Cathal Muckian (born 1952 in Dundalk),〔Murphy, Jim, ''The History of Dundalk FC'', Dundalk: Dundalgan Press, 2003.〕 a native of Dundalk, County Louth; enjoyed a stellar career in League of Ireland football during the 1970s and early 80s. Muckian played with many of Ireland's top clubs, notably Drogheda United and Dundalk FC, with whom he played in European competitions against Glasgow Celtic, Hibernians FC of Malta, and Linfield.
